nec dvd rw nd-3500ag i think the above is my dvd drive. i clicked properties in my computer and looked into my hardware. this is what it said about my dvd burner. what i want to know providing that the above is correct, can burn dual layer dvd's. as far as i know i only use +R dvd's to burn but can it burn a dual layer dvd and if so which kind. cheers
Check out the linky below for your drive http://www.cdrinfo.com/Sections/Reviews/Specific.aspx?ArticleId=10711
This MultiRead drive can read at 16X max DVD-ROM discs and 48X max CD-ROM discs. The drive can burn a full 4.7GB +R/-R DVD disc in less than 6mins at 16X speed, and can burn +RW and -RW media at 4X. Double Layer media is supported, as expected, at 4X. Approximately 22~25mins are required for burning a full DVD+R9 disc at this recording speed. As a CD recorder, it can record at 48X max when CD-R discs are used, and 24X max with CD-RW discs. that is what the link says. so: which dvd dual layers will work with my drive. confusing stuff this!
I really hope you're not downloading anything illegal, typically you don't download anything legal that is 8 gigs in size. If you are you're asking for help in the wrong place! To answer your question, yes it should burn your infinity DVD+R DL disc at a max speed of 4X. Unless a different speed is stated on the disc itself like 2X max or 1X max then you should burn at it's corresponding speed.
download illegal things?? not sure what you are getting at. but for your infomation i have lots of sports events that i have collected for over 20 years on vhs and i would like to put them on dvd, and if possible dual layers. is that ok for you. BTW, what do you dl
post "A" Post "B" Seems contradictory to me. In post "A" you say you dont have anyfiles to write to the disk yet, But will have when it has finished downloading... But In post "B" you seem to have forgotten what you just said in post "A", then you claim that you were always refering to VHS video which you wish to add to the dvd.. which you have had for up to 20 years.. You just didnt seem to want to write them to the dvd in post A becous you were downloading a 8gig file to put on the disk. So honestly Only one post can be true, and id imagine that would be post "A". personaly. Id imagine your downloading games for a game system, most likeley the xbox360. And thats why you also need to burn it to disk. But like i always say, im not columbo. But im sceptical.. Any way youve recived your answer due to reasonable doubt. But just so u know.. I for one dont believe your VHS story. Simple reasons being . You state your downloading a 8gb file. and in all honesty a single 8gb file can only ever be an iso image of a dual layer dvd. Or a compressed file... You are not Downloading a single 8gb file which is actualy 20 years of sporting videos.. But nice try. Say what you like. re-itterate denials.. But you remember. You initaly said your downloading a single file that is 8gb. which you wish to burn to a dual layer dvd. But when questioned about the file you deny this and say that you wish to save vhs to dvd... Look at it from a 3rd pesons prespective. And then you will relize where exactly you put your foot in it No offence or anything. Just logic. BTW... You have been here a long tiime. And you know as well as any one els the usualy questions which are asked. Also the usual statments members may let slip which inveitably point the finger of suspision towards them.. So try not to put your foot in it, say your downloading a 8gig file you want to write to the dvd. then get up tight and defencive before throwing attitude towards the moderators . Fact is you messed up gave out more information than you wanted to which points a finger towards downloading 360 games. Then you get uptight and defencive which is a sign of guilt in its self.. But like i said im not columbo. Im just sceptical. Espesialy when some 1 retracts there inital staement after it has been used to imply they are breaking the law. You will know if im right or not. and i dont care if you come and deny this again.. I have made my decision using logic and the evidence you provided.. I am not a person who relys much on fantasy or word of mouth
