Well Starcraft 2 has finally arrived after a long wait. I haven't had a chance to try it out just yet. I just wanted to get your first impressions of the game. For those who already have their copy, what do you guys think of the game? Gameplay? graphics? Story,etc...?
I actually have not picked up my retail copy yet. Ever since the private beta tests began, I've been playing and I really enjoyed the beta so definitely looking forward to playing the finished product. I'm also glad they are done with SC2 so now they can focus on Diablo 3 which also looks pretty amazing
Played on my brother's copy. He preordered the damn game, so while I was visiting (spent a few days at his place) I've finished the campaign. The game has a few interesting ideas, but nothing that wasn't done before in less known games. Blizzard compiled some ideas, tweaked them a bit and reused a lot from the original SC. The story, ah, the story. The place were Blizzard should shine... And yet they fall short. The cinematics are boring compared with the brilliant cinematics that SC, War3 or Diablo had. The matchmaking is a drag, the online is region locked. The graphics are pale compared with lots of other RTS out there (and the graphics are my last concern). The game had a great potential to be a lot more tactical, with a lot more depth. Instead of that, we are still stuck with tons of resource gathering. And who the hell had the idea to divide the game in three separate releases? Because my flamethrower would like to cook him at a small fire. Paying 180 euros on the whole game it's a big no for me (though I'll certainly pay that amount on the GT 5 Collector's Edition due to the beautiful package). Now I can expect Diablo 3 to shell out with a disc for each character and pay around 240 euro. the precedent took place. Acti/Blizz it's greedier by the day.
