The first time you start LOTR: The Return of the King, you are taken directly into the last stage of the battle for Helm's Deep, after watching an intro video. Everything is fine, until I've finished that level. There is another cinematic, where Gandalf says: "The battle for Helm's Deep i over. The battle for Middle-Earth is about to begin." Right then, The screen goes black, and I get this message: We're sorry... An error has occured and RoTK cannot continue. Code C0000005 at 004801F9. The Lord of the Rings(tm); Return of the King(tm) will now exit. While this message is displayed, I also hear Gandalf's last word being repeated over and over: "Begin, begin, begin..." This happens every time. (And every time I try again, I have to watch all intros and cinematics. Is it not possible to skip those?!!) So, what may be the problem here? My system is as follows: P4 3Ghz (800Mhz FSB), Intel 875P chipset, 1024MB DDR-RAM (400Mhz), ATI Radeon 9800 PRO 128MB
OK, I figured out how to fix it. I actually have to use a no-CD crack!! That should not be necessary! It's only possible to play as Sam, no matter what character I choose. Stupid!
Yeah I have an original game. But it crashed after Helms Deep so I was forced to download a NOCD crack!!!! But after downloading it I couldn't play with noone exept Sam............. I DIDN'T DOWNLOAD THE GAME I BOUGHT IT FROM MY LOCAL GAME STORE AND THEY DONT KNOW WHAT'S WRONG WITH THE GAME PLZ HELP!!!!!!!!!!
