PS1 problems

  1. I know that PS1 is not supported anymore, but when I already have it,I thought I could fix it.(BTW its PSOne) First problem is that it will only read discs if I turn around my PS1 to vertical position. The second problem is that it doesn't want to read my memory cards.I have 3 memory cards and none of them work, but on my other broken ps1 it reads them flawlessly.I am thinking to de-sotter the slots and sotter the slots from my broken one.It did find the card once for a nanosecond, and after that it didn't work.
  2. Buy a PS2 there under $100 brand new and the circuit board in the memory cards always come loose so just open it up to see if the board has moved.

Yea unless you can't fix it, it would be more worth to buy a PS2 rather than paying repairs for PS1, most of the PS1 games seems to work on PS2.
  4. I thought I already replied this thread,it didn't get it because of my crappy connection,anyways,PS2 over here costs about $130,and that's way overpriced.I just want to play PS1 games, that's all.I don't wanna use any emulator, none of them work like a real unit.Oh and there are still some games that do not work on emulator so...
  5. The trouble is its gonna be hard to fix them as there over 10 years old and may cost a fortune to get shop to fix it but if you wanna do it yourself just google Ps1 repair and see what you get.
  6. I got a 100% working PS1 and also a sega mega 64 bit and a Snes xD how do you manage to break consoles? I mean if you treat them right they dont break :S btw you think a ps1+ unopened original FF7 and Resident evil 1 would be worth something? xD (I always bought 2 copies of games in case someone borrowed it and broke it, wich happened a few times :S)
  7. It was already broken tho....The guy who put the modchip in the console might blocked some contacts to the memory card slots.Well,in croatia a normal fix/putting a modchip in it costs 20$ max,so it ain't a problem.
  8. You might see a Ps1 for around $10 and if you have one unopened you might get about $50 for it.
  9. Sorry,i had problems with my computer...I wanted to ask wich games should I get for PS1?There is so many of them...I have like 50 or more.BTW I saw some kind of physx engine running on PS1,and Dave Mirra BMX uses that engine for ragdolls.I am very impressed.
  10. Gran Turismo, most of the JRPG's, always aim for the games that weren't released for any other platform than PS1.
But, a modded PS2, it's a way better investment. You can play PS2 games and PS1 games. About 90% of the PS1 games are working fine on PS2, so it worth well the money. Both PS1 and PS2 have a humongous game library, compared to the PS3. On PS3, there are only a couple of exclusives and those are the only things worth to buy, so investing in PS3 it's for people that have enough money to buy it. As PS3 dropped backward compatibility, PS2 remains the best Sony console for now. If the modders manage to reintroduce the backward compatibility, PS3 will start moving in terms of sales. Otherwise, its future is grim.

So just gather the money and buy a PS2.
