Hi everyone! I am having this problem since the last one week.. Whenever i insert any disc (game or video), it just spins for sometime & finally the console shows 'Open Tray' :cry_ani: What could be the problem? Mine is the Xbox360 Arcade (the newer Jasper series) n my drive is a Lite-on 93450c.. I had also called up MS Xbox Support India n those guys need around 3-4 weeks for replacing the console.. The issue is that I would be shifting to another place in the next week or the week after. Would they offer an instant replacement if I took the console to their service center? Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.. Thanx
I bought my Xbox arcade secondhand and i had the open tray message aswell, the problem was that the laser had died so i searched on the net and everyone said to replace the whole cd rom but all i did was buy another lens by itself and replaced the old one and it works like a charm and it still going 1 year later hope this helps. look on ebay for a cheap laser. Also i posted a Guide on how to fine tune the laser if you want to try and fix the laser yourself called a Pot calibration.
Thanx for the info! I think replacing the lens would be better as I am not very confident with the POT calibration.. Do I need to change the laser cable as well? And which model of laser lens would be applicable in my case? HOP-1401 or the OPU-5430? (Found these stuff on an online store)
No just use the original cables, and once you get the cd rom out if it says phililps/liteon then get the HOP-1401 but if it says another brand go here to see what you may have.
Well, I took the console to their service center & they gave me a brand new console right away.. Even the warranty has been extended... Seriously, Microsoft Support is the BEST!!!
