Hi, so thought I would get a new computer that is fast and which I can play some games on.

    MSI H67MA-E45 REV B3

    Intel Core i3, 2100
    2 core
    3,1 GHz, 3MB Cache

    Nvidia GeForce GTS 450
    1024 MB, GDDR5

    500 GB, 16MB Cache
    SATA 3,0 Gbit/s, 7200rpm

    4 GB, (2 x 2GB) Corsair XMS3
    DDR3 1600Mhz, PC3-12800
    Max 16 GB

    3DMark Vantage 12250 poäng, Performance
    3DMark 2011 2542 poäng

    Average price 600£

So would this be a decent gaming comp? I'm not after to run BF3 etc. More like WoW on high details. Any pros and cons? Thanks.
  2. Me personally i would have gone with the Intel i7 as they are a better gaming cpu, a i3 has been compared to the intel celeron range of cpu's which is not as good as the i5 & i7 but the i3 should run wow nicely with a good graphics card and judging by the Nvidia you have listed your good to go. But remember if you do want to play battlefield 3 it is rumored that it won't on 2010 machines and earlier so theres a thought if you do decide to upgrade in the future. :)

Alright thx for the tip. Tho getting a comp with Intel i7 seems way more expensive. Atleast for a complete package.
  4. Gaming machine. i5 2500k cannot be beaten for bang per buck imo. No need for i7 as you don't gain anything and you can spend the difference where it matters and that's on the graphics card.

However if you do things like video encoding/VMs or anything else that can take advantage of multiple cores, then perhaps consider the 2600K. Otherwise, the 2500K is more than enough to last you a few years in gaming.
