“Now you are playing with power!” do you remember that?? I had been playing Donkey Kong and I could not wait to get my hands on the new game. The strange and wonderful world of Super Mario caught my attention immediately. Games such as Contra let me take the role of an armed military commando as either Bill or Lance (in my mind personified as Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger) and machine-gun my way through hordes of enemies.
Yea that's some classic games, when graphics wasn't everything, when gameplay was most important, like it should be
I’d like to share some of my experiences with you guys With Red Alert in 1996, PC games pushed themselves to another peak. The competitive nature of online gaming pulled students to their computers as a magnet. People chose different factions, different weapons and strategies to test their wits with one another. Red Alert embodied all the entertainment power that computer games had to offer. And I recently bought a smart phone equipped with a number of applications and a lot of games. The creative gaming experience does not fall short of those we had as children playing the classic games.
Sadly I`m not old enough to have experienced the dawn of games. The first game I played was Need for speed1 on PS1 and a game called ESPN extreme games. The game that made me stick with playing games and make it my hobby is FF7. Got it from my uncle to my birthday on release date ^^ since I`ve been through loads of games. A few years ago I bought a nintendo64 with Zelda ocarina of time, supermario64 and pokemon stadium. Since then I`ve hunted classic games instead of playing modern high graphic mainstream boring games =) I got a few nintendo power magasines with the N64 games I bought from my friend, before internett you had to buy magasines to cheat xD Atm I`m playing CS1.6, old pokemon games for gameboy and nintendo, zelda for gameboy and nintendo, FF7 and World of warcraft when I feel like it. I`m still playing through modern games and is looking for good modern games but theres just something about older games that makes them more fun. Maybe its because people made games that was fun back then instead of thinking of money and selling as many copies as they can. Just constantly pushing bad expansion and boring rippoffs to make money. Sorry about my short rant ^^
I wish I could go back in my childhood where no worries come in mind and all day playing games and doing other activities without any fear. I spent most of time by playing Mario.
