Need For Speed Underground i get the error cannot locate cdrom i have no virtual drives after an hour on the phone with EA they say its because both my drives are burners and the new version of safedisc does not like burners at all. anyone know of any workarounds other than buying an external cdrom drive ? i updated the firmware for both drives NEC 7900 cdrw TDK DVDRW420R (combo drive) are the drives. game installs great...but then Cannot locate cd any help or am i screwed Thanx Frustrated in CT
You can try this: Copy the game (low speed, and with CloneCD, you can download cloneCD trial from www.slysoft.com ) Then try to run with the copy. If that fails, you will probazbly need a crack... so get to the links section of www.helpseek.net and you will find a list of Cracks Sites. Install the crack, and retry. If that still fails, DEMAND better support from EA... you bought a game, and it is supposed to work, so they must help you.
Well if you have only 2 burners, I would recommend to get a normal cd-rom. Burners shouldn't be used to read cds.
I copied the original game-CD "Need for speed - Porsche 2000" with CloneCD (lowest speed and secured game) to play it with my son and it worked. A quick burned CD-R with windows did not work.
