Game Boy Advance SP
What you think?
It's identical to the normal GBA except for the obvious.:flame2:

I like the idea, though of course it would have been nice if they had done that the first time around, but it is nice to see that Nintendo has been listening to the public and has done something about it. The flip screen is a good idea and maybe a bad idea at the same time. It is good because it will protect the screen, if anyone else here works at a video game store you know what I'm talking about, those little kids with the horribly scratched up screens. But the down side may be that the hinge may get loose over time and start to flop down while you are playing, unless they use a sort of "Clicking" adjustable hinge. Backlit screen, no complaints there, especially because you can choose to turn it off and on, great idea there. Rechargable battery pack is also a great idea, and with a 10-18 hour battery time it really works, unless you are some sort of freak and play for 20 straight hours. Only down side I can see is that it is very squared and the shoulder buttons may not be very comfortable. Also people with bigger hands may have some difficulty with the very small size. All in all, a very good move on Nintendo's part in my opinion.

The new ones look kinda cool. I couldn't wait for Nintendo to take their heads outta their butts though. I went out a few months ago & had one of those "Afterburner Kits" installed in my GBA. (Backlight kit) Works pretty sweet.

Yeah the Afterburner is pretty sweet. After you have a GBA with it already installed, you wonder just what the hell nintendo was thinking not having it backlit.
I look at this SP as meant for the adults and older teens.
The yutes already have their ltd ed GBA's.
This is one that looks like a mico laptop.
Will the AB mod to my daughters hello kitty GBA affect it's value up or down?
I duess it depends on the buyer, and how good of a job I do installing it.

I'm not a big fan of the design..x.x it looks rather small to me. I guess I'll see when it comes out. The backlight is a big plus though.

It's true that when it's small, it not that easy to play with it.
The design is not bad, but I prefer the one of now...

My local Gamestop is offering a deal wherein you trade in your old GBA for the new SP for only $59.00.
Me thinks that the GBA isn't going to be around much longer in it's original form.
Nintendo is sponsoring the GBA SP upgrade promotion, they aren't doing it just to sell more SP's-it's to wean people off the old style optician cartel designed one.
It hits the US officially in late march.
It will arrive at my doorstep , courtesy of gamechoiceclub, at the end of this week(thanks chan!).
And I'm keeping my old GBA's, they got afterburners.

I already posted this on the wrong thread, and the server wouldn't let me delete it.
I got my SP today!
Very nice package, bright screen(dimmer button), easy controls.
Nintendo hit another homerun:clap:
