Unhappy Civilization IV no-cd HELP! IM BEGGING YOU!

i'm having a huge issue with my civ4 game. its installed and everything but i lost the cd's. ive looked EVERYWHERE on the internet for info on how to be able to still play it.

i've downloaded daemon tools and tried it w/ a bunch of different patches, mini-images, etc. from different websites and software exchange programs.

so just so im not confused...can someone PLEASE give me a quick step-by-step process on what to do to play? ill let ya know if ive tried it already or not. i'm a complete noob at this so try to bear with me...THANKS!

This is more easy than you think.

First for Civilization 4 Original version download the update patch first, apply and the get the no cd from here

http://www.wiretarget.com/games/pc_civilization_4.shtml

If you have the Warlords Expansion pack. Used to be a update patch that remove the cd chek but only in th expansion it was at gamershell.com but I don't know if they figured it by by now because I got the patch several months ago (The moronic people of Take Two accidentally removed the cd chek of the expansion and the update was put in a lot of sites)

i already downloaded the update patch...but which no-dvd one do i download? does it matter? do i have to download it to a certain folder or just anywhere and then run it?

EDIT1: i keep trying to click on that disk icon that says File Archive, but it cant connect to any of them. it says it cannot reach the website because im not on the internet (?)

EDIT2: nevermind i did it! thanks!

EDIT3: ok, another problem. the game starts and everything and the new game ive chosen to play starts to load, but right before the map to the new game opens the game crashes with a long error messgae, something about video graphics or something. anyone else have that problem?

First: you do have and edit button.
Second: read the forum rules in case of lost CD
Third: install order at the moment is CIV4, patch 1.61, Warlords expansion, patch 2.01.
Fourth: post your graphic card, because this seems to be related to graphic card.
Fifth: try updating videocard drivers, DirectX9.0c(latest redistributable is 9.0c april 2007, available on microsoft site) and make sure you are on an XP with SP2.
P.S.: the worst case scenario is that you have a graphic card not supported by the game

Could be the graphic card but this game is not very graphics demanding I played it when I still had my Geforce 4 MX4000 and used to work. One the box says the min a GF 2/Radeon 7500 Also could be he didn't apply the correct crack for the patch version

i downloaded the new DirectX but it still isnt working. the error message is something like, "failed to allocate graphics memory...reduce your graphics settings" or something like that. i think i may not have downloaded the right patch because before i lost the cd i was always able to play the game without any touble.

how can i tell what kind of graphics card i have?

i downloaded the patch. 1.61 or something like that, and the note on the download page said something like "this patch seems to be working 100% of the time". any ideas what i can do?

DXdiag launched in Start, Run will give you a full analysis of your PC.
