Baldur's Gate 1

Hi,
I've bought Baldur's Gate 1, a Replay version on a dvd, I've tried the few cracks that i can download and no one works (maybe because my version is italian? or cause isn't on cd but on dvd?)...
I've read some tutorial for cracking but when i open the file with W32DASM i can't find the correct string...
Can someone help me??

P.S. Sorry for my bad english

:bye:

I have BG1 without th expansion but I could get it cracked. i can't remember where I downloaded the crack maybe gamecopyworld.com but worked fine. Also when you install BG1 it has some options to make a full install and copy all content from the 5 cds to hardrive if you made a partial install the crack will not work because will need games files from cds to work. have you cheked that?

EDIT i didn't realized you said that came on DVD? Is it a re launch title ? I used to know it was the original release that came in 5 cds + 1 the expansion then was relaunch of the BG1 that came in 3 cds but ind DVD? also you said it keep asking for CD1 inetead or asking for the DVD of the game that sound strange did you made the DVD from your CDs? if so the installer whatever method you used if that is the case could be bad done

EDiT again Forget what I said about the DVD I looked for information and seems the game was relauched to DVD again in some stores. Then you could be right maybe the cracks not work becase the game is in DVD now and the copy protection system could be updated the original version had a simple cd chek with out any copy protection in thr exe so this can make old craks useless for the new release

I've made full install
I've also tried to check with clonyXXL v2.0.1.5 but it doesn't find any protection on the dvd....this is strange

Clonny XXL is pretty old and was discontinued long time ago- Can't detect newer protections. The best way to the detect the copy protection is Aray scanner or Proection ID. Arar Scanner was disconntinued some months ago too so in some time will be obsolete too . i recommed you better use Protection ID since is still in development and updated

http://pid.gamecopyworld.com

The only thing with this program is that you have to scan the protected exe or dll in the game diirectory of the installed game. It doesn't t have option to scan CDs or DVDs

And according to the copy protection name PID detects if does is you best way to follow if its not a tough protection You can try making and image of the DVD and mounting in a virtual drive or using anti blacklisting emulation programs if it's necessary but like I previously said all depens on what copy protection the game could has

Another way know abvout copy porections is cheking some databese websites that have information about copy porection websites I used to know some but in this moments I can't remember the links

Unfortunately, that would violate the EULA that you agree to when you install the game. You can't both be playing the game at the same time.

Ok, i've used Protection ID on the file bgmain.exe and it says:

"File has 47 (02Fh) bytes of appended data starting at offset 04B8000h"

Now what can i do??

Well i've bought another copy of the game...it is really cheap that it doesn't worth to do effort

Now, only for personal knowledge can someone tell me what does this mean:

"File has 47 (02Fh) bytes of appended data starting at offset 04B8000h"

???????

When it talks about offsets, it's referring to the memory location. The "(02Fh)" is a reference to the hex number system in which things are powers of 16. 02F means that there are 0*16^3 + 2*16^2 + 15(F)*16^1 = 47 (the "h" tells you that it's HEX). It probably just means there's some extra amount of data in that memory location that shouldn't be there ...
