sorry but i didnt like this game, if anyone did like it, i would like to know why.
i know the graphics are realistic and its quite scary but apart from that, what makes it a good game? i feel the control system ruins it for me, as well as the door sequence.
waddaa ya think?

In all honesty, I have not played through the new Gamecube one. But I unsderstand it is supposed to be like the original PSX one only with much better graphics.

The original one was revolutionary for its ability to create the mood and atmoshpere of a horror setting. Kinda like an interactive scary movie. Some would argue that this game started the entire genre of "survival horror" games. Gameplay has been refined quite a bit since then so I am sure the control seems clunky and the interface primative. But hopefully it creates the same mood as the original. You should hope they do an enhanced version of RE2. That was by far the best of the series.

Resident Evil series are very good, especially the first one wich has the best atmosphere. The second one has good but very short (only about 2h to complete with each char)

ok so all ive got here is the fear factor. What else is good apart from the scary bits?
i dont think resident evil created the survival horror genre, that title goes to the alone in the dark series. resi just bought it to the consoles.

the scariest game i've ever played! can't wait for re2 n 3 remakes. january the 3rd. they gonna launch the games (2 n3) january the 3rd i think they should 1st launch the 2nd n then the 3rd 1.

ok know you like it but why? yes it is scary .
No one is able to give a good comment on the game apart "its really scary", thats not enough! that cant be the only good thing about it surely?
Really, why is it good? what makes it better than other games?
If you really like this game it should be easy to give it praise!

personally i think it lacks fun gameplay, is a bit spammy,cheap inventory system designed to prolong gametime, terrible controls and the really annoying loading sequence EVERYTIME you open a door..ugh..., also the camera angles while very nice looking, are very annoying when trying to shoot, all of a sudden it changes to an over head veiw or something and you cant even see what is 3ft in front of you anymore.
But hey, it's scary.......

yes ive played it, and used to own it, and im not one to make comments like this about a game ive never played before.

Still, after playing games such as mario, UT2003, tony and the like, i feel that resident evil in comparison is just a very shallow game, with bad gameplay, and has only recieved the success it has by its graphical appeal and "mature" status.
Still, if the majority like it i must be missing the point.
