BF2 needs WinXP. Iīm running Win98 and donīt want and need XP.
Is there are Patch or editing notes to run Battfield 2 / Demo under Win98?
I tryed this one too by another Game with a little change ith an Hex editor form a Tutorial so i thin it works on BF2 too.

Wait wait wait, is this your computer? Or is it your parents?

You should have admin rights automatically unless someone set them which many parents do. The way to intall it is that you need to log in as the administrator. if you set it yourself and it's your comp then log out, and log in with admin password. if it's your parents comp, as them for a password.

I think that "Admin Rights needed" message in the setup.exe's code, not in win98. The setup must been looking for the level of the account user to which probably isn't available and therefore it's saying you need it even though admin rights don't exist in win98. That's probably why it won't work on win98.

I think it needs winxp's services. Win98 does not have services.

Well, i just built a new computer, and i dont feel like wasting an extra 100$ on XP which seems to accumulate bugs you dont find in win98, and slows down a PC's performance with extra Services

Admin doesn't exist in win98 because there is NO restricted accounts available.

unless if you've got some program that can force someone to provide a password at logon, it's pretty easy to get into win98 by pressing cancel at the login box, if u have one

so im having the same problem with the demo's installer

the only thing to old in MY computer is the graphix card - ati radeon 7500 instead of 8500

Windows Xp is a stable System if you treat it right.
I NEVER want this Crappy win98 back, with all the annoying bluescreens ...
People don't like thinks they don't know for real as it seems....
