Q: How to make a backup of Splinter cell?

Ok so i just bought the game from compusa ($20 off instant rebate =D)
and i'm wondering, how can i make a 1:1 Copy of this game?
What programs will i need? And by 1:1 i mean like, a copy where i don't need a crack.
now i saw a post on one of the other forums, but it doesn't seem to work.
i have 2 DVD-rom drives (ones a burner the other is a reader).
Any help\tutorials would be appreciated..
Again, i'm looking on how to make a 1:1 copy, not a crack..
until then, i'll use my originals and be... very... very careful
Thanks in advance

You should get a reliable burning program, such as Alcohol 120%. Makes perfect 1:1 copies... But it wont work with Chaos Theory.

Splinter Cell - Chaos Theory uses Starforce Protection ! There is no Programm so far that is able to make a working backup ! And there is no Crack available as well so far.

I´m pretty sure there will be a Crack for it soon ,but i dont think there will be a Programm out in future that is able to make a 1:1 Copy.

Hi!
I have downloaded a scct in .mds file. Opened in D-tools and dvd-copy with Nero Burning Rom. So I have it on DVD. My question is. Will I ever play with it or not? Because it doesn't work. Always say that the cd isn't a valid DVD, or the serial is wrong.... etc. The system update from d2d system.rar wasn't good because i'm from Hungary and the serial isn't good too.

Please write me! What I must do to play with this game?
Thanks!!!

OK, now again, the ultimative guide to playin' SC3 with a backup disc... :blacrazz

1. Open up Alcohol 1.9.5 Bld 20828 (thats what I used; may work with higher versions, too)
2. Read out the original disc with DPM enabled
3. Burn the read out image *with* RPMS enabled
4. Now, get a IDE-USB adapter. They are cheaper than external housings but work the same.
5. Detach all optical IDE-drives from your mainboard. Starforce nightmare may also work , but I didn't use it. Now attach the adapter to your DVD drive.
6. Fire up Alcohol again and select RMPS emulation in the Emulation dialog.
7. Now insert the backup disc and play the game as if it was your original disc, which now can stay in a safe place

It may be useful to rename the device drivers installed by Alcohol, as I did, but it may also work with the original names.

If you set up all correct but you still get the 'needs emulation' drive caption in explorer, re-insert your DVD. It should work then.

This method works perfectly for me.

If you do not have the RMPS information because your drive can't read them, replace the scct.mds file of your image with the one that comes with the Miniiamage from GCW.

bounce Another working method !

There is a way to play to the game with a backup copy without use an external drive or disable ide devices !
This method was confirmed by some people :

"1: Created a Image with Alcohol 120% (lastest version). I read the RMPS at the lowest settings (Precision High), same for the data. Read at the lowest settings to prevent errors.

2: Now this is the wierd part. Burn the image at the lowest settings and DO NOT burn the RMPS data to the disk. I burned it to DVDR.

It took along time to get past the protection screen(even froze my pc for a few seconds) but it did load. I tested it with 1.0 and 1.01, both load."

To be sure to have a corect mds file, you can download this file :
http://copybase.ch/Cb/PHPV2/Database...Chaos%20Theory

the one from LeatherFace was confirmed to works.

But why then do you read out the RMPS when you do not burn them to the backup disc?

Burn the image using the above method with Alcohol 120% .and no you don't have to have the original disc however it would be illigal so i suggest to just buy it .)but with the above method you there is NO need for USB , NO need for serial No need for star++++ just burn the Alcohol image on +R or +RW +RW even better .if it work it works if it not works try the backup on every dvdrom u have one dvd rom it might works while the other dvd rom it might not work this is an tricky method .but works for some people .No MINI image needed .
