How do i get the GTA3 no-cd crack to work

Hi,
Ive downloaded all of the no-cd cracks on offer for Grand Theft Auto 3 and they are all different to the copy and paste then overite ones that I'm used to.

How do I use them?

By the way most of them are only 2kb in size. There is one that is 815kb but it is an ace file and I dont know what to do with it.

Please Help me?

I used Myths NOCD patch, but it still asks for the Play CD to start the game. Its patched to v1.1 already. What have I done wrong?

I don't know why you posed this in a GTA3 thread, but regardless ...

There are two types of no-cd crack: a fixed .exe file and a mini-image.

Case 1 (fixed .exe):
You want to make a backup of your original .exe file and keep it in a safe place so that if the crack doesn't work, you can easily undo the changes made by applying it. Then you want to extract the fixed .exe into your game folder, and you should be all set. If it doesn't work, then try downloading another crack.

Case 2 (mini-image .mds file):
Extract the file to a place easy for you to access. You want to get a program called Daemon Tools (google it and you can find it) and then you want to right-click the lightning icon in your system tray and go to "Emulation" and select "all options ON" and then you want to left-click and select the "Device 0" and search for the .mds file, and once it's loaded, you should be all set.

Personally, the fixed .exe is the easiest to implement, as it's a one-time thing, and you don't have to worry about it again. If you can't get one case to work, you may want to try the other.

Sorry, I meant that for GTA 3 I used the no cd crack made by myth.

I moved the no cd file into the rockstar games folder (made a backup of the other file. It loads and runs the intro movies, but before moving on to the main menu it asks for the play cd.

It plays. I want the NoCD patch though because I kind of scratched the Play CD (I didn't see there was a CD already in there) and so to run it I need to first insert the Install disc, then when it asks for the Play CD I have to change disc.
