Strange type of protection

I am trying to make a backup of a certain game (the name is not all that important, but I will state it towards the end of the post), but I am experiencing some difficulties. Namely, I have encountered many games so far where installed the game needs the original cd to run (which I solved by approprately making the backup copy, or using a crack eventually), but this game has the protection integrated in its setup program. I have never seen something like that, so I am not sure what to be doing. The game is called "Die Nacht der Raben" (The night of the Raven in English, although it never appeared in that language), an addon for very well-done Gothic 2. No matter what I do, the setup reports the bad cd on the backup one.

I really need a way to bypass the protection, though I have no idea what kind it might be. Can you be of any assistance?

Think this game has two protections

1.secure rom
2.armadillo

Okay. I know how to bypass SecuROM - just copy my disk the right way - but the other one is a pest. I have done a quick recource search on the issue, but still have no idea how to work around Armadillo...

Now, I know replying to one's own post is not a desireable thing to do. But, I still need help overriding Armadillo... :-/

Ok, I have just learned that Armadillo is not really a protection in the proper meaning; it is mearly an encryption system to protect compiled executables from crackers. It must be something I am doing wrong whilst making a backup of the disk, then.

I just thought I'd post this here for anybody even remotely interested in this...
