Sacred ENG CD emulation all versions (includes PLUS)

Burn a cd with these instructions
It worked just fine...
Here are the final settings and exact procedure i realised...

TESTED FOR XP & 2003
ENGLISH VERSION OF SACRED

alcohol 120 v1.9.2.170
*Go to file->options->emulation and tick the RMPS (Recordable Media Physical Signature)
Click on image burning wizard
browse to the Sacred CD1.mds file you unpacked from this file

To download the thing use flashget
Or browse to this page and left klik on it, it will tell you to save as etc

*Write method: RAW DAO
*Datatype: VOB ProtectCD v5
*Select Burn "RMPS" to recordable media
*Speed x4 or lower

CD-RW Drive: 2-3 year old Burnwave (x16 CD-R speed) Burnproof
CD-R Media: SilverCircle x1-x52
System operating system: Windows 2003 Enterprise Edition & XP all SPs

With the above there was no need to run the daemon tools for the cd verification

PS:To get other languages to work replace this file C:\Games\Sacred\scripts\us\global.res with the one of your language SAME VERSION

PS2:The instruction "*Select Burn "RMPS" to recordable media" was missing on the post about v1.7

PS3: For German people German Windows XP (Info given by Freezer thank him):
I uninstalled the eng. version and installed the german version.
And all i can say:
Same procedure:
1 try ) Ask for cd2 -> cancel
2 try ) small black Box, long time black screen -> cancel
3 try ) game starts in german

PS4: For Sacred CD Emulation -Turn off the Antivirus Program (Info given by niki_mbr thank him):
For Sacred CD Emulation -Try turning off the Antivirus Program or the real-time protection. I thing that this somtimes causes the CD check to fail.

Remember the cost of knowing alot is not knowing that everyone else dont know as much as your self

well it still doesnt work. I have burned 3 discs now. 1 at 4x speed with original MDS file and one with the other one created by dems. The last try here was the original MDS again but at 1x speed. Still no luck
I burned using the latest alcohol version turning on rmps and the things with the emulation checkboxes.
The i installed the game (ENG ver.) then the plus expansion (ENG ver.)

I searched Google on the words Sacred "disk verification error" and found a forum with lots of hits about this problem..
Seems we are not alone. Even some guys (girls) have the same problem except with the original discs.. To many that lead to the conclusion that it has something to do with the drive...

Well i figured what the hell ill try with my old 32x speed Aopen drive... Suddenly it worked.. WEEEEEEEE i thought.... First it came up with a dos window and checked alot of files in the sacred library and THEN the game started... So far so good..

Now everything was just fine untill i quit the game and tried starting it again... Disk verification error... AAAAAAAAAAAaaaargh....
Tried restarting the whole machine.... Nothing... Back to step 1

yes Mad_Max911 - i have had the same. I dont know if u have read my older posts or not but i wrote there that i burned fake cd1 on CD-RW ( cos dont wanted to waste CD-R) but still had disc verif error. After some combinations on this CD-RW i decided to burn on CD-R and.... Hurrrraaa!!!! i saw what u saw ---> First it came up with a dos window and checked alot of files in the sacred library and THEN the game started ... so i thought then that it was due CD-RW media. But later when i want start game again it failed - even on that CD-R !!! This was some days ago and since that day i havnt started game !!!! i can play only old 1.66 version ( this version has no-cd crack)
Hmmm i have seen in threads on this forum that some ppl has working fake cd and other no - i dont know what is the issue and im all mixed up now. I also uninstalled Alkohol after burning , cleaned registry ( jv16 and reg cleaner) then restart comp , installed clean copy of sacred then 1.7 ( or sacred and then + without 1.7 cos "+" is 1.8 itself ) but still FAIL. Im out of idaes now - its sad that Ascaron piss out us

Well maybe and I say maybe its Ascarons fault that their custom cd check is screwy for some hardware...

I cant really come up with any more ideas about this one

Thats CD1 without spaces.. dunno if that has anything to do with it. But it did work once.

Yeah will do. Also i come to think about it i didnt try burning with my DVD-R but i dont think it'l make any difference since i tried so many other optical drives..
I think i also would spend a DVD-R just for fun to see if that might work..

I figured out using process explorer that sacred.exe opens a protectCD entry in the registry so it seems to be them who are protecting the CD

Well after spending 6 discs, trying 5 drives, reinstalling game 6 times and a hell lot of other things besides spending aprox. 24 hours on this im finally giving up.
There dont seem to a way for to get this to work. So ill just back to play old ver. 1.66 or else i have to buy the damn game again.
Lost the old one during moving.

Btw couldnt help noticing the reg file on CD 1. The vob-pcd.reg It seems to to be somekind of a protecd registry file??
Anyone know if that could be used somehow about this problem??

Man I know what you mean, this method just doesn’t work for everyone, I tried 2 CD’S bought CD-R and CD-RW, I enabled RMPS but my writer doesn’t even support the RAW/DATO method and when I chose VOB ProtectCD v5 it gives me an error something about my drive not being able to make a 1:1 copy with this protection. Anyway… my drive had problems with the original CD since I applied the 1.7 patch. There has to be another way… maybe Daemon Tools v4 will emulate it… ++++ I don’t know…

i checked some forums yesterday looking 4 solution for 1.7 and "+" but dunno. Yes Sacred use Protect-CD VOB 5 protection - check on http://www.makeabackup.com/database-S.html .I found on another forums that 1 guy installed new ASPI drivers (system ASPI cos there is now Nero ASPI installed if U have Nero) and Sacred started works. But it was 2 months ago when 1.66 was - but maybe now with 1.7 or "+" (1.8) it will works too - i must try it. Also i found that Sacred ( his protection ) detects installed burning/emulating and blacklist them.

I have downloaded the SacredCD1.exe from this url:

Does anyone know the password to extract this file into Sacred CD1.MDS and Sacred CD1.MDF files?

If no one can help me with a password, any ideas how to overcome this problem??
