This game is cool.
It cracks me up. Great graphics, easy game play.
A bit too simple a premise?
Well get over yourself this is THE Godzilla we're talking here.
The premise of the game is simple.
DESTROY ALL MONSTERS

The fate of unborn millions will now depend,
under God, on the courage of this Army.
Our cruel and unrelenting enemy leaves only
the choice of brave resistance or
the most abject submission.

It's a generational thing. We genXers that grew up on Tojo Ltd movie matinees have wanted something like this forever.
SSBM means surface to surface ballistic missle to my age group.
Unfortunately for Nintendo(or not, market niche is market niche) they are largely viewed as a kiddy toy thingy.
GDAM, is opium for the 26+ masses.

It's a pretty good game, I just think that the characters move too slow, and the fights are too slow (that's what they should be, because monsters probably can't really move too fast). But it takes away from the fun.

Slow, they move a heck of alot faster and are way more limber than they were in the movies.
The sound FX are dead on to the originals.

I just got a 'used' brand new copy for $40. The guy I bought it off of, bought it to play at a party for one night. He wanted to get rid of it & I was the lucky recipient. Definately the best Godzilla game to date. FUN!
