GC Hardware Problems

I have a European GC, and every time I power on the console without a game disc in, it makes what sounds like 2 clicking noises as if the lense gets stuck, and one clicking noise if a game disc is in. The games still work fine, though, but is it supposed to do this, as I can't remember if it always done this?

If anyone with a GC could confirm/deny this i'll be very thankfull/...

Mine does this too, and mine's a US version... I think it's just that the laser is trying to pick up the disk, and it isnt there.
