Ok...I tried burning a patched CD for Spyro 3 since it is protected.
Using CDRWIN, I extracted an image file to hard drive. I downloaded the patch. It was listed as a PDX file but when I unzipped it, it had a PPF extension so I then downloaded a PPF Patch Engine. I then used the PPF-O-Matic to do its magic. I then loaded the cue and then I wrote the file back to a disc.
The disc boots up to a screen I've never seen before, but it must be right. It talks about the crack and so on, and you select what video mode? you want to run it in (NTSC or PAL), and if you want unlimited lives, etc. Once you select a video mode and hit start, the screen just goes black and nothing more happens. I've tried both modes, one goes black, the other gets black and squiggly.
What am I doing wrong??? I really don't care about the trainer or anything, I just want to be able to play it with my son. I'm new to this and a bit frustrated right now. The only thing I can see that's wrong is that when I used the PPF-O-Matic, it said that the image file was the incorrect size or something, but it still let me write it and it gets to the first screen just fine.
