Call of Duty CD Key Problem

OK,

I own a copy of Call of Duty.

So, last night I am playing "deathmatch" online. Everything is going fine, then I decide to change to a server playing "team deathmatch." Here is where the problems start. I go to join a server, and I get an error stating "invalid CD Key." So, I go to the multiplayer options. I then go to the tab where you enter in your CD Key. I re-enter my CD Key, then I try to join another server. Same problem, I repeat all the steps again with a different server, same problem. I tried to join 5 different servers. Same error everytime. :rangemad

What is going on here? :frown2:

Did you download it?

Are you using an original CD key, or did you get this online?

If it's an original, try contacting their support and explain to them that it's not accepting your key.

Shut call of duty and then wait a few min and try again.Ifyou disconnect then try and reconnect sometimes it does that as it still thinks your playing.

Hey Guys,

Thanks for the quick responces. No, I did not download the game. Yes, I purchased the software. It is a valid CD Key, which is located behind the second disc.

Vile, if what Armidillo said does not work I will contact Activision and see what is going on.

All you need to do is go to the call of duty directory/main and look for the file named codkey, delete it, then enter your cd key again in multiplayer option.
That should fix it :greenbigg
