I don't think it's a failure. People will probably start buying it more now, because of the good games that have just come out, and the ones that are going to come out.

Nintendo is making games for kids. So that's maybe why some adults say that GameCube is a failure. I think that GC is very good for kids, but they are indeed repeating some mistakes...

calling the japanese midgets, apologise now, theyre a lot smarter than you thats for sure.
The resi series is now exclusive to GC, so it can make the most of its power, sega is gonna be bought by ninty!
lets face it guys, the crap-box doesnt havethe best xmas line up, neither does the gay station poo, the Gamecube does.
As nintendo make the best games, the console will win and they have 3rd party developers too.
the GC is no failure, its not a kids console either. If you think the GC is a kiddy console then go and die becuz you dont understand the true meaning of gaming.
nintendo have games that are more fun and usually worse GFx, but who cares cos now GC has better characters, better xmas line up, more fun to play and its got capcom making resi with photrealistic GFX they CANT lose.

wow! rare have gone! ninty ar gonna fail- its not gonna happen. most of rares developers work for ninty, free radical, silicon knights or gearbox studios. we shouldnt be getting worried. there you are shouting your mouth off about how ninty are failing! its crap! they will soon catch up to the PS2 around xmas times! so shut up!

@fatman junior: name 20 good games for nintendo gamecube that are already realeased please, and another 20 that are coming out that should bge good next year.

I'm just comin down to reality, nintendo do not have a strong eough line up to succeed, u muct understand that. beleive it or not but i was once a fanatical nintndo fan, but things that happened on th n64 which made it do badly are happening to nintendo now, and the loss of rare alone will not make them fail, but it will be a very heavy blow, as i think nintendo is still establishing itself.

If there's one reason i'm dissapointed with the GC, is that it has no 5.1/DTS Digital/Optical output for linkup to an Amp. But other than that, it's cool, and I'm looking forward to the future in terms of games... Zelda, Pro Evolution, FF, etc.

However, I do think that they need some more mature games (like RE, GTA, MGS, etc), if they're going to succeed in the long run

No one can say x console is the best/worst until they've all been around for a while. Take PS2, release games were poo, but this has been round the longest, so it should have the best games. Then X-Box came out, again, poo release games (anyone who says Project Gotham is the "best" racing game is an X-Box fanboy), but they're gradually getting better. And now, GC, surprise, surprise, poo release games, but they're getting better as well.

One point to consider, is, however, Microsoft must be worried if they're dropping the European price (again) to �99.99!! Now call me crazy, but that's damn ludicrous. Surely even the mighty M$ cannot afford to have the "best" hardware at the lowest price?!?!

Yeah markavelli said that pgr looked better than GT3 lol he said the that no racing game has better graphics than pgr lol he seems to be the only person on the planet that thinks that.
