messiah mod chip

I was going to get a messiah modchip, but i've read that the laser burns out quickly, has anyone had this problem or is it just a case of people playing ripped cdr's instead of dvd/r so therefore it makes the laser work harder.

no the laser wont burn out because u get a chip.If u have a old ps2 then u might get problems reading certain makes of cdr's and dvd-rs because some of the early ps2's had weak lasers

The messiah shows colour only on ntsc but on PAL it doesnt show colour, magic 3 is coloured with PAL but not with ntsc.
