Unhappy PS2 Dvd Backups probs

Hi

Backed up my original PS2 on to DVD+RW and DVD+R, on ricoh dvd burner, using Stomp Recordnow, all seemed sucessful, however cant get PS2 to read DVD+R or DVD+RW??.
Couldnt get Primo to see my dvd rw, so used stomp, which has the same px engine.
So, whats I doing wrong?

Thanks
Jade

Hi m8
First of all the best proggy i've found for backing up any of the psx formats is cdclone.
I myself have a ricoh cdr/rw and have never had any probs with back-ups.
I presume you have a chip in you ps2? it would be very helpful to know the make and version because so of the chips don't allow the unit to read cdr/rw so a change of chip maybe needed.
The other problem could be that the game you are trying to back up is in dvd format (as some of the more popular games are now) therefore without a dvd/rw you'll never get a working back-up.

Kintekke, i don't think you have read the question properly, Jade is having problems doing disk to disk DVD copying.
I think Armadillo is right, i don't think the PS2 can read dvd+r also PS2's are very picky about the brand of dvds used, try to use top quality gen 4 disks.
I have never tried to copy PS2 disks but i find that Prassi PrimoDVD 2.0 is a really good dvd program, that may be worth a try.

with a ps2 the media between different versions can matter

Heres an example Datasafe disc Gen 3 my V4 works
same disc V3 doesnt work

You want to be burning at 1x safest way
With nero or prassi primo most reliable for this job
Make sure your taking image to hd first
And get some decent media like FWS or neo technologies discs

your verbs should be ok dunno about memorex though swap programs to NERO much easier i have had 100% success rate
with it

answer to all ya questions

a ps2 comes in many models just like the psx ok.the latest ps2 out at the moment is a 003 now with a magic2 chip all your games will work except a imported psx game.
richoh dvd+r writer is a load of crap the format is new which is dvd+r not many dvd recorders can read this format ,and from wat im aware neither can the ps2 so dont be fooled.

and last but not least i dont know which silly people think clone cd can copy a ps2dvd because it CANNOT????
so can u members stop leading other members round in circles
this forum is for people who no wat they are doing or have at least done it.

clone cd may copy a backed up ps2 game but cannot back up the original and i swear that from my heart cos clone cd does not support dvd at this time neither does cdrwin.
