dvd-rw discs on ps2?

hi i`m trying to backup some ps2 games.is it possible to use dvd-rw discs to try or will ps2 net read these.so then i would have to use just dvd-r instead.just having a few problems at moment,so i didn`t want to keep wasting discs if possible.

have datasafe dvd-rw
and traxdata dvd-r

I dont think the ps2 can read dvdrs.
Maybe the problem is the dvdr media that u r using,try a different brand of dvdrs.
