networking x box help
hi all
i got me self an x box last christmas and are hell of a pleased with it
i want to connect it to my computer and download saved games and put them on the x box hard drive. it says on www.xbox-saves.com you need evo x to transfer games over to the harddrive but i like the dashboard thats on it now.
can you transfer the games over to the x box with the normal dashboard or do you need evo x. if you only can do it with evo x is it worth having on there?
cheerz all :flame:

evox can be installed alongside the original dash, in fact there's an evox menu option to return to the m$ dash anyway.
If you want to tranfer files to the xbox you have no option than to use an alternative dash anyway(unless you have m$ sdk installed on your pc )

Also, you should be able to manually FTP it, and upload the game save manually. You don't *have* to use their tool to upload the save, I've done it manually a number of times, and it's worked fine for me.

Ebay, for Evox?
Lol, it's a free download, and very small at that. Not sure why you'd direct him to ebay.

First of all m8 you need a mod chip to run evox, get the latest version here http://www.biteable.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ also no need to replace ur ms dashboard if u dont want to u can just run evox thru a cd/dvd, read my xbox backup tutorial to give u an idea.

1. dunno
2. yes, you can use the original dvd player with the remote, or dvdx with the controller.
3. no, you can boot evox just fine from a disc.

I've not used xiso, only isomaker.
I'm sure I used nero to burn it.
It's best if you use a cdrw, cdrs generally don't work.

Yes cdrs r no good unless ur 1 of the lucky guyz that own a samsung dvd drive try using dvdrw, it might not boot the first time so just keep trying if it doesnt then u defenetly need a dvd burner.
Also dont use xiso or any iso maker, trust me! use record now max read my backup tutorial so that u can see the settings.
here's a thread on xbox-scene forums saying y u shouldnt use xiso here

Read my backup totorial m8, u'll c how u can link ur msdashboard so u can launch it from evox all u have to do is rename it to msxboxdash, xbe n name evox's default.xbe to xboxdash.xbe n place it on the xbox c drive along will all evox files wich r skins directory bios directory and evox.ini, i'm pretty much sure that a firewall doesnt preven u from connecting to evox! u cant use same ip for both pc n xbox as i said play around with it, also how exactly r u trying to connect to ur xbox? hub, crossover?

Dude actually chips r not the big deal here chips will work according to the bios (wich ever u have) i have x-2 latest bios!
question wich i'm pretty sure u cant since u didnt rename it! can u boot xbox (original xbox) dashboard? when u download evox u'll a file called default.xbe, u have to rename that to xboxdash.xbe n rename the original xboxdash.xbe to msxboxdash.xbe! neways i have 1 of the best chips out there lcp cheap mod, i actually boot evox from my f drive cuz i play live, when my chip's off the original xbox dashboard boots from the c drive, n when my chip's on evox boots from the f drive cuz my x2bios were hacked so that xbox boot from the f drive.
