Question Xbox DD 5.1

Just wandering exactly how i get 5.1 in my Xbox . I have dolby pro logic set up at the moment and my amp supports DD 5.1. However it doesnt have optical or coax inputs, it has a phono for each channel. So what do i do? Apparantly, im supposed to run it through a DVD player, but i just thought id ask you guys before i go out and buy anything useless.

The Xbox High Definition AV Pack connects the console to most TVs with interlaced component video inputs including high definition ready TVs that support 480i and either 480p, 720p or 1080i component video signals. Look for HDTV support on Xbox game packages. Movie playback is in 480i only.

This pack also supports digital or surround sound audio receivers. Sound system with Dolby Digital decoding and a fiber optic cable required to enable Dolby Digital sound. Sound system with Dolby Pro Logic decoding required to enable Dolby Surround sound. (Additional cables and sound systems sold separately.) High definition ready television required to enable high definition features.

Go to the dashboard on your XBX and go to settings.
Under audio or sound, if 5.1 hasn't automatically been selected, then do so.

The XBX can feed directly to your receiver, both of mine do; one optical, the other using standard RCA jacks.
