I thought that it could be helpful to make one single thread in which I post some useful links that help people to solve the problem: "How do I make a working back-up of a game, if I can't find a crack for it ?"

--FIRST OF ALL--
The tricks given in the original thread will NOT make any NOCD Cracks. It only helps you to BACKUP your game, and not to CREATE or find NOCD Cracks.
So in fact, it's no use to ask a No-CD crack here, as these tricks and tips are quite useless to create No-CD cracks.

--LETS START--
Download ClonyXXL and use it to scan the CD you want to back up. Clony will tell you what protection the game has.

Many protected games (like the ones Protected by the SafeDisk series) can be backed up without having to crack or apply a crack to it, if you use CloneCD. You can get a trial version of it here. It is mostly a good idea to backup the game at low speed (2x recommended). The only problem with CloneCD is that your writer has to be supported by it, you can check that by clicking here

If you still can't back up your game correctly, but you do know what protection it has, have a look here, it's a list of all the existing game protections, + a description, + tips on how to back it up. This list also contains links to free backupping and cracking tools.

I hope this helps some people out

If your game is quite recent, it is higly probable that if you don't find a crack for it, the crack simply hasn't been created yet. Have some patience... Some cracks are only created and uploaded a few weeks after the game's release, so keep checking the suggested crack sites regularly for updates.

It seems that Alchohol 120% is quite a good burning programme as well if the writer is supported by it. According to LordGerion, it can bypass SecuROM. So it's worth trying. Get it here: Alchohol 120%

thanks spy, but unfortuanetly my cd writer isn't very well supported so this doesn't slove my problems unless i go out and purchase a new one.

Also is there a good site where u can find out whether or not the game has a backup-able cd protection? If so what is the kind that is backup-able?

ClonyXXL isn't designed to backup games, it's designed to detect what protection a CD has, and it detects most of the existing protections. Clony also has more recent versions, so normaly it detects anything. If you are talking about CloneCD, then you may be right, but newer versions of CloneCD are released quite often, so if the current CloneCD can't back it up, chances are big that the next version will be able to.

And @Noodles: yes, there is a way to see how easy it is to backup a game: when clonyXXL scans, and detects, it also shows an amount of skulls. The more skulls there are, the more difficult it is to back it up. If you can't find the crack, and you don't have a cloneCD supported writer, you should first detect the protection, and then, when you know that, do a search on www.spacetarget.com or www.crackstore.com to see if you can find tools which can remove the protection from the exe file (or other protected files) for you. (like Safedisc cleaner, etc), but there are no tools for every protection... but as CL says: everything is somehow backupable, It all depends on what protection it is. SecuROM for example can't be backed up easily, there is a way to do it, but it's complicated, and time-wasting, so better is to use a no-cd crack in that case.

If you really can't find a solution, you can just back up the game, and play it with a no-cd crack (if you find one of course) untill you get a new Writer

if its somebody interresting! I found alochol 120%! At the one hand its a good emulater and on the other hand its fine burning program!
I don't know if its my plextor writer or not, but i was able to copy the game aquanox2 with securom new v4.xxx . without needing a game crack afterwards.
So if you have problems for new games to get game-cracks, try alcohol 120% http://www.alcohol-software.com/ maybe it's a little help!
it also gets all other copy protections

Hi Well Im not sure what happened.. I down loaded your "A good guide on how to install game cracks" After downloading it I tried to open it and got a messg. stating it couldnt open this kinda file. GameCrack.PDF it asked me if I wanted win. to search I replied with a yes then it brought me right back to your posting in MegaGames. I tried 2 times with the same results. I put it on my D:\ as GameCracks.PDF which is what it downloaded as. Neither times could I find it. Then I did a search which turned it up. Windows still said it couldnt open this kinda file. Which I guess its refering to a PDF. Oh im running WinXP pro. And I have the latest Adobe Acrobat. Im sure its something Im doing wrong but I cant figure out what. Please forgive a noobie. Strange, the link works fine for me... you just have to click the link, and if you have Acrobat Reader, it should open it automatically... are you sure you folowed this link ?

hey spy...i need a backup cd crack for mechwarrior 4: clan mech pak...ive lookedeverywhere...all the sites that every1 gives is good...but it doesnt have this specific game. i went to www.megagames.com/gcracks and i found an inner sphere one..but i still cant find the clan one...can u help me plz?

Easy stuff. Get CloneCD, and copy the game at low speed (2x recommended).
I also know that FAST ERROR SKIP has to be enabled to backup SafeDisk 2 protected games... I don't know if that option has to be enabled for SafeDisk 1, but it costs nothing to enable it

If that still fails, make an image file of the original and apply some SafeDisk removing tools (like DEAMON, etc) on the image. Then burn the image on CD. Tools can be found at www.gamecopyworld.com
I don't guarantee it will work, but it's certianly worth trying.
