FileFront Closing
More sad news, resulting from the current crisis we are in:

Lame news to be sure.
Wish them luck in their new endeavors.
But this is only a portent of things to come.
Forget blaming the economy, if this new scam & trade crapola
gets passed it will be numbing to see how many server farms
and their supported sites go down. If utility rates jump 90-130%
(depending on whose numbers you use) then high energy consumers
like server farms could be adversely affected.
If we even come close to a depression style economy,
will MG even be here? How bad will confiscatory utility rates
affect internet use and web commerce?
If history is any indicator of anything, it doesn't look good.

Actually FileFront stays up. A few of the original founders of the site, got their money put together and bought back their baby. So FileFront stays up. For how long, that would be a different story....

Yup guess I should have posted the update, but the original owners bought it again since they didn't want the site shut down, so all is good for FF now

That closing was about to happen in march this year, but in the end the original owners managed to buyback the company. You might remember the fact that Filefront changed ownership in 2005. In 2009 the second owners sold most of their company to UGO. Filefront was not included in the deal and was about to close forever. The first owners, the people that founded Filefront, managed to raise the funds and buyback FileFront. At the date, FileFront it's up and running.
