I have the Yu-Gi-Oh Forbidden Memory PSx game and it has a lot of scratch so I'm backing it in case if the original goes bad. I use ClonyXXL and then use CCD4.2 to burn w/ XXL profile. After finished burning it, I pop it in my PS2 v7 chipped w/ Messiah 2 Pro. It boot up and I see the psx logo as well as Konami logo, once the Konami logo is gone, there's a screen that I can't make out. It has a big red circle w/ a back slash goin thru it and also have some writing but I can't make it out. I thought I did a bad copy and burn another backup using the same method but still didn't work. So I pop in the original disk in the PS2 and same thing happen. Then I tried other original PSx and it boot up fine as well as other backup of psx games, except the Yu-Gi-Oh game. Can any 1 tell me what's going on or do I need to apply a patch? If yes, could you show me the ultilities, patch, and steps by steps please.

Also, I have 2 PS2, one is chipped w/ M2 Pro is a version7, while the other one is the v2 or 3 not chipped. I tried the game on the old version (not chipped and it boot up fine, I'm talking about the original). Please help me out. Thank you very much.

yu-gi-oh has anti mod protection ,you will have to ethier swicth the messiah 2 off then use the original on the ps2 to play or patch the backup to get rid of the anti mod protection

hey Armadillo, I did what u said by patching the game using CDRWin 3.9c and PPF-o-Matic v2 w/ the patch from megagames site, after patching it, I put the disc in the system and I can't get it 2 boot at all. I turn on the pwr and press eject and place the disc in then put it back on standby, turn off pwr 4 3 sec, then turn on and hold the reset button for 2 second. That's what I did for all my psx backup and it work, but this Yu Gi Oh game doesn't work. Can you tell me what I did wrong. I follow this guide here to backup and patch it too.

http://www.geocities.com/trax_no1/psxpsonepage.htm
and dl both the CDRWIN & PATCHING and the prog. PPF OMATIC 2. I use the same setting in CDRWin like in the CDRWIN & PATCHING guide.

Here's the link to the patch in this forum, which I dl it.

First I use Ritek(short-term dye) 74/80 min cd-r and it doesn't work. Then I use the 74 min Verbatim and it still doesn't work. What type of media do u use? What's the method that u use to boot? Cuz I use the same method as I would boot my other backup psx and it works. Also, those backup psx are burnt on memorex (Ritek dye, long-term) but doesn't work so I try Verbatim and still no luck. I have the Lite-On 125WS(40x12x48), HP 8210e(4x4x6), Yamaha 2100e(16x12x40), and Sony DRU-500AX. Any other comments/suggestions/ideas?

Also, what setting do u put for CDRWin? I use ver. 3.9c

i use cdrwin 4.0 so this should work for u.

open cdrwin, click the 3rd icon in, extract disc/tracks/sectors.

name your file--> yugi.bin where it asks for image filename.(do this last)

reading options--> RAW
error recovery--> ignore
jitter correction--> disable
subcode analysis--> auto
data speed--> 8x max, i dont burn any faster than that and have yet to have a prob.
audio speed--> same as ur data speed that u set
read retry count--> at least 50
subcode threshold--> 300

click save settings, then proceed to name ur image. now every time u need to backup a psx game u wont need to put in all the settings again, theyll already be loaded in there for ya. that method has worked every time for me.
