Chip probs....then use this one......

I keep seeing threads that are about chips that dont work...
well here is a bit of advice for you all.

My ps2 is chipped with a magic 3 chip. the only probs ive had is with the type of media games are copyed to, i don use any other media now than VERBATRIM, i think thats how its spelt, ive had lots of other media but some times the games load ansometimes i cant get em to boot, but with this VERB, they load all the time, stop wasting your time buying cheap cds, or dvd-r only get VERBs, and i can honestly say my magic 3 is brill no need to do anything than pop in cd, dvd, dvd-r cd-r, movies games and all..

one other bit of advice is get the chipping done professionally dont try soldering 11 wires to points spend a little extra on this method and in the end your ps2 will live longer, oh yea one other thing, buy a BLAZE ps2 head cleaner, this cd runs a prog that cleans the lense and also realines it too.

you wont be dissapointed with these little tips.

i wouldent have magic 3 put in my ps2 if someone paid me to much bad stories about them.Also magic 3 is not 11 wires its 22 .You said get a professinal to fit the 11 wires which means there using a clip of some sort which aint very professional.

I was guessing the amount of wires that need soldering, but i know some chips have 11, secondly, how can the magic 3 suck, it might suck for you 2 who proberly have had probs, or heard of other people moaning because theyve had probs, but dont you think if you are having probs with loading games then you would try other media before losing faith. i had the choice of getting the messiah fitted or this magic 3, messiah was slightly more expensive and i wasnt sure to begin with but i went with magic 3, i havent looked back, if i was using cheap memorex cds and the games were not booting i would be posting this......

THE MAGIC 3 SUX, DONT WASTE YOUR DOSH. but i used common sense and went through the different media test, i bought a pack of different cds to try, i think there was about 8 different cds, i think about 6 worked but, i had probs getting them to load first time, only the VERB, passsed the test, and keeps doing so.

If i hadnt faith in this magic 3 then i wouldnt waste my time postin this, all im trying to do is help others out, dont say magic 3 is a ****e chip if you are using cheap cds.

I agree with you Markg, I have an M3 fitted, I even believe it's a fake, but I've had no problems with it, I've used many types of DVD+r, like Verb, HP, and Ritek, all work great for me. I truly believe you need someone who knows what they're doing to do the install.

i have a messiah not a magic 3 might be good for you but i still wouldent touch one because if there previous rocord with there other chips.Also try booting a dvd9 game on it and see what happens you will have about 40-50% boot rate.Also maybe something is messed on your ps2 cos i use cheap cdrs and they boot fine everytime.

well all i can say it works great for me,,,,ive seen threads slating messiah too, so i guess we wont get a happy medium. but why not get a vote going and let members vote on best chip......

my friend installed a m chip to his v5 ps2 us. didn't boot with any kind of media he tried apple chip all media works. ;)

And I have a friend who has a version 5 us ps2 and a magic chip, everything works great! So obviously your buddy had a bum chip or a crappy install.
