today my computer started going werid on me. i woke up this morning to find ma computer like it always is powered on but sleeping, but when i move the mouse the moniter never came on i then pushed keys and again never came on so i reset but i then saw a problem ma BIOS screen had like green pin strips on it the it went to the XP load up screen the it had like grey pin strips on that then XP stopped loading, so i reset again and went in to safe mode then i just left after doing nowt there. the bios screen was fixed and xp loaded fine, i just put it down to some odd error but its NOT!!. bout an hour latter i noticed wee green dots on screen not many just a few then i got wee squares if green lines then ma moniter just went off and i had the same problem as above. anybody any ideas?????????????????????? PLEASE
my specs are - lex mainboard BN790T, athlon 1800XP, 390 megs off sdram, geforce 2 400 mx, 80 gig 7200 harddrive.
ive also got 3 case fans and an exhaust blower

could be one of two things. either your monitor is kicking the bucket, or, you vid card is dying, try another monitor to see if teh problem goes away, if not..that geforce is ready for the garbage :(

just a quick ?? - u have your monitor close to the wall or anything? i tend to find alot of ppl asking me to fix their computer, its doing similar to yours just to find out i move the monitor away from the wall an inch or so and it works perfectly.... cos the cords arent hitting the wall no more

k guys i was looking right into ma system and just found out that ma graphics card was over clocked. my core speed was at 222mhz and the memory was at 352mhz. i just reset em to defaults. how can i tell if ive broke ma card?????

The simplest way would be to pop another videocard in there & see what happens.
Try and run a game to see what happens if they dont run how they did before then you know somthing is up.

Or if you don't have a second card, put your actual one in another computer and see the result
