My system:
Athlon Xp 1800+
Geforce 4 mx 420
256 sdram pc 133
40 gig seagate 7200 rpm hd
widows xp home

Shouldn't I be able to play GP4
with all settings on high with my system

At the moment I can just get by on medium settings and no trackside objects. If the grarhics arent on high then it's a **** game in my opinion because thats all GP games are about GRAPHICS.:grin2:

Have you checked what programs are running in the memory of your cpu and taking up valuable ram?

hit Crtl-Alt-Del and check what is running in applications and in the proccesses. If there is alot of stuff running, trying closing them.

Another thought:

First make sure to disabled screen saver and power managment.

Then:
Go to Start > Run and type msconfig in the Open: box

Now there should be atab there for startup, select the stuff you dont want starting.
Hit apply and OK and restart Windows

Hope this will solve it !!
