The best way to install a new OS is to do a clean install after formatting your hard drive.:)

i think that may be dodgy memory or your xp install disc is trashed
almost sure its memory related
i shall investigate further and get back to you

does anyone else think that this new "blue screen of death" on XP is more intimidating than the old one. It scared the heck out of me the first time i saw it, and the fact that it only appears when something is REALLY screwed up is even worse. But maybe its just me.

I'll agree with you Akiji.....the first time i saw it pop up i about had to change my pants......
of course i was in the middle of a five hour project for a class.....
Have you got new RAM for this machine, cos i thinks its a memory problem to mate.
I you go to www.tweakxp.com and look on there forum and do a search for win32k.dll problems that might help.

Have you partition with NTFS? Try using a different XP CD and make sure you have enough RAM installed.
