what version ps2 is the newest (in u.k.) i think mine is version 4 but unsure. i was sold it as new just after christmas already premodded with a magic3 chip.any help is welcome.

look on the back of your ps2 where you turn it on and youll see a serial # and an SCPH #, compare w/ list below.

Look at the back of your Playstation 2 to find the code

Model 30001

If it begins with u1 you have version 1

If it begins with u0 you have version 2
(Note: Some PS2s with serial number u2
may have a version 3 board.)

If it begins with u0 you have version 3
(Note: Some PS2s with serial number u2
may have a version 4 board.)


If it begins with u3 you have version 4

If it begins with u4 you have version 4

If it begins with u5 you have version 4

If it begins with u6 you have version 4

If it begins with u0 / Date code 1C you have version 4

If it begins with u2 / Date code 1C you have version 4

All v4 boards are copyrighted 2001.

If it begins with u5 you have version 4

If it begins with u6 you have version 4

If it begins with u1 you have version 5

If it begins with u3 you have version 5

Important: Neo 2.2 & STAR chip will not boot DVDR on a version 5. STAR chip creator is working on new version, no date is given.

However Neo2.5DVDr with GS2 V1.93 will boot DVDr on a Version 5 ps2
