well i would suggest:

A: Restartyour computer. if your mouse is going so out of control that you cant get to the turn off menu, then turn it off imnproperly

B: If that doesn't work, then yu'll probably need a new mouse

Try giving it a clean if it still persists after the reboot, it's amazing how gunged up they can get.

Umm... I restared the computer like 4 times and now its working some what, and it didn't need a clean cause its an optical mouse.

there ya go:

Optical mice have a big problem with that - if you twitch the mouse the wrong way, it will go crazy - it is possible u culd have disposisioned the LED on the mouse which is making it do that. I would recommend buying another mouse because that happens a lot - especially with an optical mouse.

is it cordless and optical?

if cordless then the obvious of batteries going dead.

@ optical... what surface are you using it on? try different surfaces - matt, shiney, coloured, etc.

good to see some have A$60+ to throw away on a new mouse without knowing if there was a simple problem with it

Who makes the your mouse becuase I have heard of the microsoft and some times even the logitech mice can go wakko.

Also it could be, like someone had said earlier, that the led has been damaged or altered in sum way
