generals technical difficulties serious error

can anyone help Ive just got generals but cant play
when i try to run the game i get this message "technical difficulties" "serious error"
my system is as follows 1gig amd
512 ram
voodoo 5
win 98 se

is ther anyone who knows what the problem may be

That's all the error says? Is there any more to the error message?
Do you have a legit version, or is it cracked?

yep thats it
when i start game it goes into intro movie then as it goes to load the game it pops back to windows with a small box that says

it is a leagal copy just got it yesterday

Man i'd say it's your Video Card if your using a Voodoo 5, thats a old card and really wasn't all that good to begin with. With a game like C&CG it probably needs something newer to run it.

You must remember this:

Many of today's games DO NOT support the Voodoo chipset. If this is the card you have, I'd bet anything that it's the reason for your problem.

Bottom Line:

Voodoo owners: Get a new card!

i suggest you to check for info and download latest patch from www.westwood.com

You'll find this is an unexplained error that they are still working on.
Look in the offical generals forums, you'll see literally hundreds, probably thousands by now with this error. It seems unrelated to video card (alothough, if you can afford it, you should sitll try and get a nwer one), people with low and top sepc computers get it.
They are apparently working on a patch for it (not 1.2 another one) so you'll have to wait for that to come out, and then it to be cracked.
