i just got my sony dvd writer and backed up a couple of ps2 games. i was searching for dvd media when i saw some mini
dvd-r for sale. doesnt the cube use mini dvds that are 1.5 gigs big? i was wondering if there is a mod chip for the cube or do you even need one, like the dreamcast, to play backup games?
here's the link http://shop.store.yahoo.com/800dvdr/dvdmini.html

The gamecube has the best protection system of the consoles...

You might be able to back up gamecube games with the panasonic gamecube. It plays original dvds. In Hong Kong they actually do have mini dvdr for sale. But this is just what I heard.

GC games are read and copied via the cube and pc (Similar system to the Dreamcast).... you can't put a game into your dvd drive and expect it to run.... GC backups are out now and you can download them if you know the right places... as for playing them... you can't. Not even on a Panasonic GC.... if someone says they can they are talking complete -Edited by Spy-...
It they say I'm wrong... make them prove it!

There are only a few people that can play the GC backups via a cube and I have been told it involves serious hardware... not just a mod chip... But unfortunealy I am not privy to what they are using... >___<

I'm sure those games will be backupable one day. But only the fact that it's small CD's make it more annoying to do.
