Well it depends,
For a dvd9,.....
If your gonna rip the movie,dd5.1 audio and chapters(subtitles if needed,subs done with vobedit,subrip or Chapter Xtractor) ,then it takes about 10mins to demux the video and audio stream with dvd decrypter,about 1 min or less to get the celltimes in ifoedit,about 10 - 20mins to author then video,audio and chapters in ifoedit.Then between 30mins to 1hour,depending on the size of the movie.(thats burnt at X1).
Thats how i do movies.(this give a basic rip,no menus and extras,put the movie in and it plays,the chapters are kept so u an still stip forward)
If the movie to to re-encoded to fit on the disc then it can take about 8 - 12 hours to re-encode.Cant ell you the excact time as i have'nt yet re-encode a dvd > dvdr.
Time will also depend on the speed of your pc.
If its a dvd5,then its quicker.
Use dvd decrypter to make a .iso,then burn.

Watcha.....you will have to take lots of things into account really...Processor speed,how much vertuall memory..
In my case....i aint got a supa dupa machine but my 1100gig,128 ram,55gig HD...takes me approximatly
Ripping = 20 mins
avi2dvd = under 10 mins
encoding = 3/4 hours
authoring = 30 mins
burning = 20 mins
Not spectacular..but het it bloody works

Yo tn2 what speed do u burn your dvdr movies at man.??
And when u re-encode what do you use,tmpgenc,cce ??
VBR or Constant birate.?
Oh and i said 8 - 10 h encode time as im gonning by what i have read as i have'nt yet re-encoded to dvdr.So computers might take that long.
@ Jedi Master.....hiya mate....i use TMPEGnc to do all my encoding.used others but i prefer that one...CBR works fine for me...Did you see my post on Video Asset Length...
TRUE mate the encoding depends on the comp plus it also depends on if your doing PAL...usually slower....
