I was so fed up of those stupid advertising tabs on the side of msn messenger that I found out how to get rid of them for good. I thought you would all like to know this so here it is:
Press:
---------------------------------------------------------------
'Tools'
'Options'
'Privacy' tab
then tick 'This is a shared computer so don't display my tabs'
Then press 'Ok'
---------------------------------------------------------------
It doesn't matter if your computer is shared or not - this will keep those horrible tabs at bay.
Im expecting loads of karma points for this one! lol
Enjoy your MSN more!

Sorry CL - I did think about it, but Software was under 'MGF Helping Zone' and seen as I didn't want any help I put it in chit chat. I guess the title also applies to helping others.. I don't know... never mind.
So you gonna give me some karma points and 'rate' my post then molle? - Does anyone ever even leave karma and rate posts anyway?? - sorry to go off topic..

well if you don't have msn 5.0 you can use msn+ to get rid of all advertising.
@wwh
are you saying it don't do anything ?
and this really belongs in software.

WuR WyDe HuStLa:
If its already checked you shouldn't see the advertising tabs. This option is to HIDE the tabs if you see them.
This definately works because I did it myself!

after checking i just realise that it remove the left tab.
not the banner @ bottom
there are lots of addons that will let you remove advertising here - http://mess.be
remember that most of the progs don't work with 5.0 and above.

Personally I use Trillian Pro. Its annoying having so many of those progs open, and switiching through them constantly.

messenger plus 2 is out for version 5 no www.mess.be which i think fixes it. and if u still run version 4.0 - 4.7 i recomend arcain light messenger tools 4.0 i have messenger 4.7 and 5 running both at once. because it when i downloaded it it went into msn messenger instead of overwriting messenger so i use both 1 to check all my emaiol accounts and 1 to chat.
i personally dont really like trillian that much as i only use it for messenger and the design isnt really my cup of tea
and with XP does ne 1 have problems sending stuff through messenger?? cos i did but i found out that once i installed servicepack1 i cant send anything unless i turn off my firewall(good knowing it wont let much stuff through security wise) but i dont want to turn it off every time i send a file.
