pc very slow

hi guys,
after its on for an hour or two
it seems to get slower and slower.
there is a very noticable gap before my browser opens or proggys start. ive got nout running in the background part from norton and black ice,so could it be my processer??
athlon 1100
256mbram.

maybe overheating?

ive tried a couple of memory progs which reclaim lost ram evry 10 mins or so but still happening so i think its time to reformat again:( .

reformat is the best thing to do if you have any important files better but it in floppys or in a drive that you are not reformatting.

and get a faster cpu m8 at least a xp1700 and 256 ddr ram ohh and a good mobo ;)
