A patching prob

i like to change the exe file before i burn the copy. it makes a better copy, no patching needed after installation. BUT not all games allow you to find the exe file. can somone help me find the exe file and tell me how to extract and replace it.

don't crack a game before burning

then you wont have the original exe left, which can be needed when updating
