Hello Everyone

Hope you are all having a great xmas. I have a problem that maybe one of you could give me a hand with.

I am a new kid on the block when it comes to game copying. I have just aquired a playstation 2 (Yay) so being the generous brother I am i gave me old console to my youngest sibling. Now here is the problem I have alot of old PSONE games that I would like to to copy and send to him. I have done a bit of digging and found ECCRegen so we can regen the EDC and ECC Fields.

(1) Now I am wondering will this enable me to burn the disk's properley?

(2) Will I be able to play them back On both our playstations?

My old playstation has a modchip, Does this have anything to do playing backups? I ask This because the original play fine so why cant I just straight copy it.

Arghhh..... Headache comming on

If Anyone can help I would appreciate it.

Thanks and have a safe holidays.

I suggest maybe new software like cdr-win available at www.goldenhawk.com or Clone CD, both work great for backing up your games. I don't know what ECCRegen is or does since I've never used it and I've backed up my games it seems like something that you dont need. Yes, the modchip will allow you to play your backups (as long as it is installed correctly and not faulty) As for your PS2, you would need to get that chipped as well to be able to play your backups. Hope that helps.

P.S. post in the console-PSX/PS2 forum next time, not introductions

Thankyou

One more question, I thought the chips were for Import games? why can you not just copy the original. Is the some info on the type of copy protection they use.

Thanks anyway.

Merry xmas... Have a good one

The chips are for Imports and Back-ups, it is mainly advertised for Imports since most companies frown upon making back-ups even though it is legal. And yes, you can back-up your origionals with the software I listed for you. I don't know the specific type of protection they use, but that is what the Mod-Chip is for, it gets rid of that for you.
