Ive just bought a new Gigabyte GA-7ZXE MoBo today and an Atlhlon XP 1700+ CPU. ive set it all up but when i first did it the computer said it was an Athlon 1100 so i stiched off the computer in case i never set it up right. thought i may have had the cpu clock frequency wrong took a look and its at 133 Mhz, but the real problem happed when i stiched it back on all i get it a long pause bout 5 seconds the it goes "beeb.beeb..............beep...beep...beep...beep.. .beep...beep.beep......beep.beep" just once and then stops. any idea what this means??? and how to get it going cos its an xmas pressie for my kids. ok its to stop them asking me if they can use mine :). but really you got any help.

that is usually a sign of a couple of things m8,
1/ memory is not firmly slotted in
2/ G card loose
or worse im afraid cpu has died, however on these boards they may be a switch you have to move as by default there set to 100mhz (usually a little blue switch) .
try and reset the memory or try some more if you can, this IS usually the problem.

FYI: There are often diagonostic beep sequences called 'beep codes' to tell you exactly what is wrong
E.g.: http://docs.euro.dell.com/docs/systems/dim8250/advanced.htm#1084976
Always ask your retailer for more info
