ps2 just died

Just turned my ps2 on and was ok, pressed the reset and the power died, checked fuse at plug and on board ok. Just put a non solder mod in yesterday and it was working fine, but took it out just in case but no difference.

whats the most likely cause and how do i trouble shoot
