what exactly is an emulation?? is that where you can back up playstation games?

No its when you download a program that can "emulate" or play ROMs (or exact replicated PC versions of Console/arcade games) on your PC. It is quite entertaining, and takes up almost no space! MAME is a good Arcade emulator, www.mame.net - there are emulators for EVERY system accept for Gamecube and Xbox (Ps1 and PS2 emulators are out but require that you insert the original game disk).
