war3 won't work

[beginner]

i can't get warcraft 3 to work.

i have a backup of war3 and i put the correct crack in the same directory and i updated my video and sound drivers.

but when i play it the game gets through the blizzard logo and opening trailer then goes to a black screen and stays there forever.

any help
