Well, this tweak is for ppl who are new to computers. Have you ever notice there is a delay in your right click drop menu? Well, there is 400 millisecond of a delay. I'm sorry, but I don't have this 400m sec to spare, "Microsoft". Let me show you computer newbies how to change that to no delay.

Go to Start>Run and type in Regedit and click OK! Now your registry is on. Click Edit>Find... from the pull down menus. Type in MenuShowDelay and press Enter. Now you will see it and its highlighted on the right side of the window. On the MenuShowDelay, Double click it. Finally, in the VALUE DATA, put 0 instead of the default 400 and click OK, close Registry. Kaboom! Your done, now there is no Delay anymore. Have fun! :)

Here's a couple of tips for you newbie computer users.
Speeding up Windows is not hard at all, you just need the basic rules of tweaking your Windows.
1. Turning off unnecessary services - Windows has several services running in the background. But did you know that you don't need all those services turned on? You can turn some of them off for a leaner Windows.
2. Update Drivers - Always update your drivers. The latest drivers are often optimized for performance.
3. Install More Ram - The more RAM you have, the more it can store in this short-term storage area, and the faster your computer runs.
4. Upgrade Video Card - Moving up to the next level of graphic chip will speed up the graphics performance of your computer.
5. Optimize your hard drive - When a file is written to your hard drive, it is often scattered among the free sectors. Defragmenting optimizes your hard drive by efficiently re-ordering the data.

@micro this works with all versions of windows.
Click on the Start menu and select Run. Type in "regedit" (without the quotes) in the Open field.
Expand the HKEY_CURRENT_USER key.
Expand the Control Panel key.
Expand the Desktop key. Then do one of the two steps below
If you don't have MenuShowDelay, you can create it. Here's how:
Right-click on Desktop key.
Select New > String Value and name it MenuShowDelay.
Right-click on MenuShowDelay, set its value from zero to 999 milliseconds (default is 400 milliseconds).

Speed up Win XP by turning this off:

Start > Run > 'msconfig' > Services > "Background intelligent transfer service"

Does absolutely nothing, and this tip has been recomended by many computer mags.
