Playstation 2 DVD reading problem

Hi,
I have a playstation 2 with a solderless modchip installed. It has been working great for a long time and then I was playing Grand theft auto, vice city and it started having read problems.

Then I tried a different DVD game and it couldn't read it. It won't play any DVD games or DVD movies but it plays CD games fine.

Any help on this problem would be Greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Sony! Sorry just kidding but it sounds like your (dvd) laser is out of calibration. You have 2 options buy a new PS2 or repair the one you have. If you choose to repair you will need a multi-meter,static strap and or a wooden screw driver. Now search google for PS2 laser repair and you will find instructions on fixing your system.Be carefull,adjusting PS2 laser pots is tricky buisness and could ruin your system.
