Well it seems that this gamer had an unfortunate event where his Nintendo gear burnt down and Nintendo in an admirable act IMO replaced his Wii and Game Boy for free.

That's pretty cool of a company to do something like that. It certainly isn't common practice for companies to do something that nice, at least not big corporations in my opinion.
